Prayer Request

Final Update: Kiaran is home and doing good. I know this picture is pretty graphic but it speaks volumes of what God has done in this situation. We give God all the glory for Kiaran's great outcome and thank Him profusely. We are all in awe of the fact that he is home and doing well! He will have no activity for 6 months but after that should be back to his normal self!!
Thanks be to God for His indescribable gifts- 2 Corinthians 9:15
Sunday update: Kiaran is doing great! His surgery went well and he now has 5 metal plates in his head. The doctors anticipated lots of swelling and bruising today and here he is - no bruises and no swelling. They also expected he wouldn't be able to see today due to swelling and he has been eating and watching cartoons! The doctors are amazed and say he came extremely close to "not functioning normally". He will get his bandages off tomorrow and staples out Friday. If he continues to do so well they can all go home tomorrow!! We are rejoicing in this amazing outcome. However, despite how well things turned out for Kiaran we know that God is ALWAYS perfect, ALWAYS in control and ALWAYS good - no matter what the outcome would have been.

Saturday Evening Update: Kiaran is stable and doing as good as can be expected. The fracture was worse than we expected as it has gone through the dura matter (protective layer around the brain - three layers thick!) He will undergo surgery shortly. Please continue to pray with us.

My 5 year old nephew Kiaran (on the right) suffered a skull fracture today and has just arrived in Bismark ND for further care. He was hit in the head with a golf club by a 6 year old boy. He is stable and conscious but the fracture is quite extensive and there is visible bone fragments in his brain. We know this is serious but we know God is mighty and capable of all things. Please pray with us for Kiaran and his parents - Laura and Joey and the whole family as we wait.

Oh goodness Amber . . . we will be praying hard. Ugh, it bring back so many memories from Cayel's skull fracture and severe brain injury. I'm glad to hear that he has recovered so quickly. God is good! Not that I know everything, but if they need someone to talk to who has gone through something similar, we'd be happy.

Good post Amber! God had been so good! You are so right though, God would have still been good even if the outcome had not been so good.
